If you’re looking for a high intense love story than this is the book for you! With a bit of magic, tradition, and pure electricity this YA Fantasy will take you on a roller coaster of emotion that will leave you breathless!
I was so excited when Shaila reached out to bloggers interested in doing a cover reveal for Fighting Fate earlier this year. She then asked if any of use would like to read an eARC of this wonderful YA Paranormal Romance and I couldn’t pass it up! She is so fun to work with and I hope to work with her again in the future!
The First Book in the Series
Review
I thought book one was intense! Shaila does an amazing job at portraying emotion in her writing. The energy between Lucky and Liam keeps you on the edge of your seat as you wait for the joining of souls to happen! When it does it’ll leave you eager to know what happens next!
I flew through book one and two in a week which for me is pretty quick on ebook format because I usually don’t have the focus or time to sit and read for hours but when it came to these two books I just couldn’t put them down. The ending to this book leaves you with so many questions.
Lucky develops so much in Fighting Fate and is faced with some very difficult decisions about her future. She is also left with so many questions that she feels she may never get the answers too, especially when it comes to her relationship with Liam. I really liked the struggle Lucky has in figuring out who she is and who she wants to be. She always refers to herself as two people, Lucky and Laxshmi. Shaila does a wonderful job in her writing to show just how Lucky is feeling. When Lucky feels anxious you feel anxious, when she feels sad you feel sad, when she’s in love you’re in love. This is exactly why you will go on a roller coaster of emotion, almost literally, because that is how intense these empaths are!
Liam! I love Liam. He is kind and considerate, and even though he is a prince he doesn’t let it get to his head. He doesn’t want all the politics that come with it but learns quickly that he will be forced to play their games in order to protect Lucky. His love for Lucky almost breaks them but they both come out of it in the end stronger than where they started. He is such a strong person in having to make serious decisions to protect Lucky and is always there for her even when she doesn’t know it. I really enjoyed the bond they have for each other and even though it is tumultuous at times they always find their way back.
