Wonder Woman Book Tag

Gah! I love Wonder Woman! I came across this book tag  on my sweet friend Mandy’s blog Book Princess Reviews! If you haven’t checked out her blog before you definitely need to!

Wonder Woman: Your favorite badass female book character…

Kalinda from The Hundredth Queen is so freaking badass! I mean, she had to beat out 100 other women to become queen! These covers are also stunning!

Fantasy Island: A book setting you want to escape to…

Gah! I’d live in Cirque des Rêves with it’s ever changing setting, getting to travel around, and the chance to live with a family of unique characters. I loved this book so much!

London: A hyped book that let you down…

A Court of Wings and RuinandTower of Dawnwere on my most anticipated for 2017 and unfortunately I was disappointed in both of them. I love SJMaas and was so excited for the continuations of Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses. I will definitely read her next installments but will make sure I go in with a lot less expectation.

Steve Trevor: A book that has a beautiful cover and a great story (i.e. good personality)…

I love the cover of Caraval and am so excited for Legendary! This was one of my favorite 2017 reads and of course book two is on my 2018 most anticipated list! Not only are the US covers beautiful but so are the UK editions! Stephanie Garber tweeted her love for the Legendary UK editions and it’s killing me having to wait to see them! Hopefully we’ll get it soon!

Lasso of Truth: A book you hated…

I rarely “hate” books and I wouldn’t say that I hated these two but they weren’t my favorite. I only finished All the Wind in the World because it was a review for a blog tour, and I didn’t finish As You Wish at all. They just weren’t my cup of tea.

Wonder Woman’s Shield: A book so sad that you need a shield…

We Are Okay is a beautiful book about dealing with grief in different ways, and in different circumstances. You definitely need to be prepared for the feels when reading this YA Contemporary!

we are okay

Ares: a villain that is scary, but you can’t seem to hate them…

Valko from the Burning Glass series is one of the most dynamic villains I’ve been introduced to. He’s so calculating, charismatic, and not so empathetic but it doesn’t make you hate him. He’s probably my favorite of the two male characters found in this fantastic book series!

The Amazons: A book that you wish had more/better LGBT+ representation…

There have been some great books out there that do an amazing job at LGBT representation. My favorite is The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue! Mackenzi Lee did a wonderful job in developing Percy and Monte’s relationship. I don’t think she could’ve done better. I just want more adventures with Percy and Monte!

  1. I was so let down by Illuminae, maybe I had too high expectations due to how hyped it was. I almost DNF’ed it, so after the not so great experience I had with Illuminae I’m trying not to read books that are over-hyped. I read As You wish, and there were things that I did not like about the book at all.

  2. I know what you mean! I don’t do much research on books so that I don’t get too high of expectations. I do want to listen to Illuminae since I’ve heard the Audio is a cast of characters! I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who had issues with As You Wish. I DNF’d it. I don’t do that often.
