Top Ten Tuesday: Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start but Haven’t

I’m so excited to post my first Top Ten Tuesday, especially because it highlights books I’ve really wanted to start but haven’t found the time to do so! Especially since taking on a new series can be kind of daunting when you’ve got a never ending TBR pile already. I know I will get to these one day!!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the fabulous The Broke and Bookish. It’s my favorite weekly meme, because the topics are always super fun, and it’s also a fantastic way to connect with other book bloggers. Join us!

1. The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

2. The Selection Series by Kiera Cass

3. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

4. Matched by Ally Condie

5. Defy By Sara B. Larson

6. All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness

7. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

8. The Heir Chronicles by Cinda Williams Chima

9. Legend by Marie Lu

10. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

What are some YA Series you’ve been meaning to read? Have you read any of these, if so, what did you think?

  1. I’ve been meaning to read the Raven Cycle too! I’m also curious about the Selection series and I really need to finish the Lunar Chronicles (I read Cinder and liked it but got distracted by other books waiting to be read haha).
I read Matched but for whatever reason I never finished the series…
I DID read the entire Shatter Me trilogy though and LOVED it. It’s one of those series that isn’t for everyone but for whatever reason I really connected with it. It also really evolves the more you read. The characters really go through changes over the course of the trilogy (and Kenji is my fave book best friend haha). I personally really liked where the series stops but I know she’s planning on sort of continuing Juliette’s story and I’m pretty hesitant about it.
I look forward to your reviews if you ever find time to dive into any of these! 🙂

  3. Great List! I have started Defy and the Lunar Chronicles but I haven’t finished them yet. Legend, the heir chronicles are in my tbr list and I’m planning to binge read them sometime in the future. Shatter Me is my favorite series and I’m so excited that there’s going to be more books in this series.

    1. Thank you! I love Sara’s Dark Breaks the Dawn so I really want to read her Defy series. She is also one of the nicest people! I really need to read Shatter Me because I am hearing about how amazing it is!

  4. I’ve only read 3 of these series so I’m in the same boat as you, Sarah. I clearly love TLC, so I super recommend. It is SO SO SO good even if you’re not a fan of scifi or anything. I wasn’t a super fan of the Matched series. But I’m also super interested in trying out the Selection and Marie Lu ones. Wonderful post, Sarah!

  5. Congrats on your first TTT! The Raven Cycle is so good, I hope you enjoy it. I have the first Matched book but I got it in a blind book swap and I’m not really sure I want to read it. The Shatter Me series was on my list this week too. I think I have the first Defy book on my TBR, but I honestly can’t remember! I’ve read the first Lunar Chronicles book, it was fine, but nothing mindblowing. I’m still going to continue with the series though.

  6. Charming post! Thank you for sharing.
I totally agree with what you say about starting new series can seem daunting. That definitely explains why I have yet to begin a new series. I feel that series can take away sometimes from exploring other fictional universes and books because as soon as we finish one book from the series it is almost critical that we move straight onto the next.
I’ve been meaning to start the Shades of Magic series forever now but have been perhaps intentionally burying it in the midst of my TBR pile for months now!
I look forward to hearing how you like the All Souls trilogy; I’ve heard some mixed reviews on the series.
    Happy Reading 🙂

    1. Oh! The Darker Shades of Magic trilogy is so worth picking up! It’s amazing! One of my favorites! If there only a couple out on a series at much easier for me to keep up but starting one that already has four or five books in it is just too much. There are so many good ones!
